HTA welcomes Bubby-Ty to Rods phase 1 training. Bubby is here to learn respect, gain confidence, and to start under saddle. Watch Bubby's progress as the weeks pass by. Soon he will be safe, respectful, confident, and just allot of fun to be with. Look for progress videos often right here at HTA.
Week One
By week 3 Bubby-Ty has learned that humans are not the worst thing in the world and that we are here to help. That is why we need to be the best we can be to the horse. Notice the way he is starting to trust me with his feet. Notice how he is starting to give to pressure. These are just a couple of issues Bubby was having real problems with. Through trust and understanding Bubby can now move on without fear and anguish.
Week Three
In just 4 weeks I have brought Bubby- Ty from being a pushy, scared, unsafe to be around young gelding into being a safe, confident, respectful horse that is just a pleasure to be with. Now under saddle standing still for mounting, responsive to commands he is becoming an equine friend that has the envy of many horse owners.
Week Four
Special Notice Bubby Ty came to HTA Training 6 weeks ago as a scared insecure 2+1/2 year old baby. Now you can see by using gentle training tactic's we see a confident well mannered easy to handle horse that is FUN to be around.
Mona Dadisman Visited High Trail Arabians to visit with her Bubby Ty on week six of his training. As you can see in the video Mona was very pleasantly surprised to get to ride her horse for the first time ever. Mona knew Ty was in need of the kind of training HTA specializes in. Trainer Rod McCracken only uses gentle non violent tactics that the horse absorbs at their own pace. "I don't force a horse to do anything. I cause the horse to respond in a positive manner".
Week Six
Notice how Bubby-Ty has evolved into this safe gentle horse we see here in the video in just 8 short weeks. That my friends is the product of training though Understanding, Confidence, Respect, and Trust. Forcing a horse just reinforces their fears.
Week Eight
This video is of Bubby Ty in his 10th week of training here at High Trail Arabians. Ty came to HTA lacking confidence, scared of everything, and had issues with just about everything concerning humans.
Using understanding, confidence, respect, and trust as tools: Ty has overcome many obstacles and fears in just 10 short weeks. Now he is saddle trained, respectful, confident, and still has his great personality we all grew to love so much. If you need help with your horse maybe I can help you.
I started introducing Ty to the hanging tarp several weeks ago. It was apparent to me from the very first day that he had deep dark real fears with the tarp. Some horses has no problem with this exercise but for Ty, the hanging tarp was his worst nightmare! It was the boogie man to him. My tactics are simple. Don't force anything, and let them have their feet. Their feet are their security blanket. It took some time, but look at the results in the video. I'd say it was well worth the effort!
Week Ten
After just 15 short weeks of training here at HTA, Bubby Ty is now doing some light Phase 2 level tasks that in my opinion is just remarkable. He is very smart for such a young horse. Bubby continues to show enthusiasm in all his sessions. He enjoys his training and is already on the schedule for the fall to continue his phase 2 training here at High Trail Training.
Week Fifteen
After just 16 short weeks of training here at HTA, Bubby Ty is now being put through a series of training tests. These tests not only tests Bubby's knowledge of what he has learned but also tests his trainer's effectiveness of the training. We learn from our horses and Bubby Ty has taught me many new thing about how horses with deep hidden fears. So we both benefit. Horse and trainer.
Week sixteen
Bubby Ty has successfully completed Phase 1 training here at HTA with honors. He is scheduled to return home to Mona Dadisman Charlotte N C on April 3,08 via Rockin H Equine Handling Service. Bubby Ty will be returning to HTA to continue his horsemanship training Phase 2 in September this year. I look forward for the opportunity to help Bubby through his 2nd phase of training as he develops and refines his abilities to all new levels of achievement, trust, and understanding. Bubby Ty has been truly a pleasure to work with and will give me reason in looking forward to the fall season.
Ty Going Home
I was talking to Mona one day and she had mentioned that she and Ty played fetch the stick in the past. I thought that was pretty incredible for a horse to do so we started working on that and enhanced it somewhat. After building on what Mona already established with the fetch we then practiced some pushing pressure on the left side. Watch the video and enjoy Bubby Ty as he performs with his playful personality. This video is a sample of an actual training session.
